This notice explains the processing of personal data when you visit vedatafuzidesign.com or contact me. Reading this notice does not constitute consent to tracking.
2. Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. Your IP address and technical request information are processed to deliver the website. IONOS documents logging of the requested page or file, referring page, browser, operating system, device type and access time, with anonymised IP addresses. IONOS states that visitor data is retained for eight weeks and that its webhosting processing does not transfer visitor data outside the EU.
The purpose is reliable delivery, troubleshooting and security. The legal basis for necessary personal-data processing is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on the legitimate interest in operating a secure website. IONOS also provides hosting statistics through WebAnalytics. See IONOS webhosting privacy information.
3. Contact by email
If you email me, I process your email address, message and any information you voluntarily provide to answer your request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Article 6(1)(b) where your request concerns a contract or pre-contractual steps. Email providers process the correspondence as part of delivery and storage. Messages are deleted when no longer needed for the request, unless statutory retention duties or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims require longer storage. Providing information is voluntary; without a reply address I may be unable to answer.
4. Browser storage and WordPress
The light/dark switch stores your selected appearance in your browser under “portfolio-theme”. This value remains until you clear the website’s local storage or change it. It is used to remember your requested display preference, not to identify you for advertising. The basis for this requested functionality is Section 25(2)(2) TDDDG and, where personal data is involved, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
WordPress uses cookies for login, authentication and editor preferences when authorised users access the administration area. These support the requested login and website administration. They are separate from optional analytics cookies.
5. Google Analytics
Google Analytics is connected through Google Site Kit to analyse website use and improve the portfolio. The service is provided in Europe by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Analytics can process page views, interactions, referral information, device and browser details and identifiers stored in cookies. Google documents a default lifetime of two years for its “_ga” cookies; this can vary with configuration and browser settings.
Optional analytics requires consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG where information is stored on or accessed from your device. Consent is separate from this notice and may be withdrawn for the future. You may contact me about withdrawal and use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Deleting cookies alone does not prevent new tracking requests.
Google may process data in the United States and other countries. Its applicable transfer arrangements and retention practices are described in Google’s Privacy Policy, international transfer information and Analytics retention documentation. The retention of user-level and event-level data depends on the Analytics property settings; aggregated reports may be retained longer.
6. External project media
Some projects include externally hosted video or interactive media from Adobe, YouTube (Google), Vimeo or Northwestern University’s Knight Lab (Juxtapose). Loading an embedded player establishes a connection to its provider and can disclose your IP address, browser details and the referring page. Providers may use cookies or associate interactions with an account if you are signed in. These services can involve processing outside the EU, including in the United States.
The purpose is to present project videos and interactive comparisons. Where consent is required, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TDDDG apply. Simply visiting this privacy notice does not grant that consent. Provider information: Adobe, YouTube/Google, Vimeo and Northwestern University. These providers describe their own retention rules and international processing. Ordinary portfolio images are hosted in this website’s own media library.
7. Your rights
Subject to the applicable conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction and data portability under Articles 15–20 GDPR. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. Under Article 21 GDPR, you may object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your particular situation. Contact me using the details above.
You may complain to a supervisory authority, particularly where you live or work. In Schleswig-Holstein this is the Unabhängiges Landeszentrum für Datenschutz, Holstenstraße 98, 24103 Kiel, Germany: datenschutzzentrum.de.
8. Updates
This notice is updated when the website or its data processing changes.
